1. What if I can't attend every Luncheon?
We understand that life gets busy, and attendance at every luncheon isn’t mandatory. Simply register for each lunch by noon the day before to secure your spot. We appreciate your consideration for fellow members and their schedules.

2. What if I signed up for a Friday and then have an emergency and can’t come that day?
Emergencies can happen to anyone. You're allowed to miss up to three lunches with less than a 72-hour notice to respect people's time and the essence of the group. After three misses, you will need to forfeit your membership.

3. What if there are other people at my lunch in my industry?
We believe every lunch offers a unique and valuable opportunity to connect. While it’s possible you may share a table with others in your industry, we encourage an open mindset—what might initially seem like competition could evolve into a future collaboration.

At SF Hive, we foster a supportive environment where collaboration and camaraderie take precedence over competition. It’s about building relationships, sharing ideas, and finding ways to uplift one another.

4. What if there's a particular restaurant I don't like?
Your comfort matters to us. When you join, you can also provide input on specific restaurants you'd rather not visit. We'll consider your preferences when planning our lunch venues.

You can also suggest restaurants that you would like us to add to our roster and we will keep these in mind.

5. It doesn't seem like I'd be meeting many people per lunch, why would I want to join?

At SF Hive, we prioritize quality over quantity. It’s in the repetition, connection, and sense of community that your relationships truly deepen. By focusing on smaller, more intimate lunches, you have the opportunity to go deeper rather than wider, fostering meaningful and lasting connections.

Plus, it’s never the exact same group at every lunch. With new guests and members attending, you never know who you might meet next. Each gathering brings fresh energy, perspectives, and opportunities to form valuable relationships.

6. Can both me and my business partner join and go to different lunches?

Absolutely!

We encourage both you and your business partner to join SF Hive. When you join as a business (please check the fees above for businesses with two or more members, as well as nonprofits), you’ll have the flexibility to attend lunches together or separately, depending on your schedules.

Since we meet at the same restaurant, you and your partner may attend on different days, allowing you to meet a wider range of people and gain diverse perspectives. On some occasions, you may both go to the same lunch and strengthen your connections as a team.

If one of you is unable to attend, the other can represent your business under the same membership. This flexibility ensures your business is always present and benefiting from the community.

7. We are a non-profit, how could we benefit from Connected Communities?
As a non-profit organization, joining SF Hive offers you exposure within our diverse and supportive network.

For example, organizations like Girls Inc. and Esperanza Shelter have gained valuable services, donations and support through relationships built with SF Hive members.

Absolutely! You’re welcome to attend up to two lunches for free to experience what SF Hive is all about.

After your second lunch, you’ll have the option to join as a member and enjoy exclusive perks or continue attending as a drop-in guest for $20 + tax per lunch. This flexibility allows you to decide how SF Hive fits best into your schedule and goals.

9. As a restaurant owner with steady foot traffic, why should I consider joining this group?

While your restaurant may already enjoy decent foot traffic, joining our group offers unique opportunities beyond traditional marketing. The membership initiation fee is currently waived for founding members!
